Planning

Schedule

Planning when to complete the different stages of your project will help you not to procrastinate, so that you can accomplish more in the end.

Use any process due dates as a guide. Check your schedule for your other classes and determine when you'll have time to work on this project.

Work Log

There are a number of options for keeping a work journal. Check with your teacher to see which is required.

  • web log (or blog) - the work log is posted online on a blogging site such as blogger.com
  • soft log - the work log is kept in a word processing document
  • hard log - the work log is written by hand on paper

What should I write in my log? Again, check with your teacher to determine the requirements for your project. The format can vary (chart, free text) but most logs will contain the following elements.

  • Date & amount of time spent on the project
  • Accomplishments - what I did today
  • Problems / questions to get help with next time
  • Ideas to work on next time

Keeping track of this information will help you get back into the project quickly next time, so you don't waste time trying to remember what you were doing.
