Helpful Graduate Information

1. Distribution of Credit Counselling Summaries
• students should review the credit counselling summary to ensure they have met all of the necessary compulsory credits
• ensure you have 30 credits to graduate
• passed the Literacy Test
• completed 40 hours of Community Service – due in to Guidance no later than May 11th.
• if there are any inconsistencies, see a counsellor as soon as possible – also a chance to ask any specific questions you might have regarding college/ university/work/apprenticeships
• if planning on attending University – you need 6 – Grade 12 U or M courses on your CCS including ENG 4U1
• University and College application processing only recognize the first five characters in the code – for example TDJ 4M1 and TDJ 4M5 / IDC 4U1 and IDC 4U3
• if attending college – ENG4E1 and OLC 4O1 won’t count!
• Students will only be granted one credit from each of the Gr 11/12 groupings (see master course list)

2. Distribution of Websites and Ontario College Guide
• Websites and pamphlets provide a starting point for research
• go to the individual College/ University website to find out specific prerequisites
• pay special attention to additional requirements eg. Portfolio, auditions, supplementary application forms – many of which are on-line so that you can make sure you meet the requirements in advance

Wednesday October 22nd at Keswick S.S., Keswick from 7:00 – 9:00pm
Thursday October 23rd at G.W. Williams S.S., Aurora from 7:00 – 9:00pm

4. Applying to University and College
• Both university and college applications will be completed on-line.
• Guidance will be hosting information sessions for both University and College students in October to outline the on-line application process.
